The Academy students are very active in the many sports programs we offer after school, namely Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, Track and Field, Softball, and Swimming (new for 2016-17 school year!).

Volleyball is one of our main sports with over thirty students participating each season. This is a Fall time sport and is open to all boys and girls in grades 5 through 8. We compete in the Morris County Catholic Volleyball League.

Cross Country is a small team of dedicated distance runners. Practices are held once a week after school and our athletes compete in 5 or more meets in the Fall. Cross Country is open to all students in grades 3 to 8.

Our Basketball teams compete in the CYO league managed by our Parish. Games are primarily held on the weekends with practices held in the evenings or after school during the week. Basketball is open to all students in grades 3 to 8.

Track and Field is another popular sport at The Academy with upwards of 70 students participating some years. Practice is held once a week and we participate in 5 or 6 meets held on the weekends in April and May. This sport is open to all students in grades Kindergarten to 8.

Swimming will be coming to The Academy in the Fall of 2016. Our students will be able to use the brand new facility, the Berkeley Aquatic Club, located in our neighborhood to practice their swimming skills and perhaps compete against other teams. More details to follow soon.

Softball is open to our 6th to 8th grade girls. Our team plays against other Catholic Schools in Union County. Games begin in May and run through the first week in June. All games are played at Rahway River Park in Rahway. We are happy to announce that our softball team won the championship in 2016! Way to go Panthers!
