Please Join Us – Make The Academy Pledge!

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace is a Catholic elementary school. In 2020, financial responsibility for The Academy was returned from the Archdiocese of Newark to the School Board and Our Lady of Peace Parish. The Academy relies primarily on tuition to fund its operations, but tuition covers only a portion of The Academy’s operating costs. Fundraising, led by the Home School Association (HSA) and The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Foundation, plays a critical role in covering expenses not handled by tuition. Since 2010, the Foundation has helped families and students in financial need. Sponsored by the Foundation, The Academy Pledge is a three-year gift toward a $500,000 goal. All Foundation proceeds are used for the benefit of The Academy and its students. The Foundation operates with minimal administrative expenses. Donations are tax-deductible, as The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Working together, we can ensure that this gift of Catholic education within our community will be available for current and future generations. The Academy’s students, parents, teachers and staff – all of us – are grateful for your generosity.   PLEDGE

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pledge

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Preschool program focuses on the developmental needs of preschool students, encouraging them to explore, create and learn. We have adopted teaching and learning practices from the Creative Curriculum program to support students as they learn through discovery, create artwork, conduct science experiments and play pretend. We strive to best prepare our students to have the highest level of success in Kindergarten.

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Preschool Programs offer thematically integrated curriculum in the subject areas of math, science, language arts, social studies, religion, technology, library, Spanish, music and art. Our three year old program introduces students to colors, shapes, numbers and nursery rhymes as key content. Then, in PreK 4, students are introduced to relevant curriculum that presents readiness skills essential in the preparation for Kindergarten.

Meet Sean Cusack - Class of 2003

High School: Delbarton School College / University: The College of William & Mary Current Role: Television Editor Fondest AOLP Memory: An eighth grade class of only thirteen students! The Scholastic Book Fair, the OLP Country Fair (apparently, I enjoy fairs more than I thought), and an especially outstanding fifth grade teacher who helped instill in me a sense of integrity balanced with humor which I like to think I carry with me to this day. It would be more accurate and honest to say my fondest memory of AOLP is the sense of peace, safety, and quiet happiness that comes with almost any memory of the school.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As promised, I am writing to share our most current plan for reopening The Academy in September. As of today’s date, we remain on target to open in-person for five, full (social distanced) days a week, while also offering hybrid and virtual options for our families. We ask that our families complete the survey linked here ( by August 15th to formally choose a learning option for September. This must be completed for each child.

We are working to open our school safely, provide students with the school experience they need, and weigh myriad factors associated with COVID-19 and the education of our children. Our decisions continue to be guided by the documents released by Read More
